Web Animal Ordering (WAO)

Presenter: Computer-Based Learning

Course description: The Division of Veterinary Resources (DVR) mandates that all animal orders for IACUC approved protocols, be placed using its ordering system. This online session will cover how to create and manage animal order request using GRANITE Web Animal Orders (WAO).
 
Educational Format: Online Class
 
Learning Objective (s): Learner will discover how to create, edit, submit and view animal order requests.
 
Class time: 10 minutes
 
Who should attend? Anyone who uses the GRANITE WAO system to order animals.
 
Frequency: Anytime

The IACUC Review Process

Presenter: Ellen Kapsalis, Ph.D. Associate Director

Course description: This course provides an overview of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and the review process.
 
Educational Format: Live Class
 
Learning Objective (s): Upon completion of this course, the attendees should understand how the IACUC review process works, and the main items of concern for reviewers. The attendees will be knowledgeable of the most common reviewer concerns and how to address these concerns.
 
Class time: 1 hour
 
Who should attend? Research/Lab Managers, Faculty and Staff involved in animal research.
 
Frequency: Every three months

Post-Approval Monitoring of IACUC Protocols

Presenter: Elisabeth Koncza, Research Compliance Officer and Ellen Kapsalis, Ph.D. Associate Director

Course description: This course provides an overview of the post-approval monitoring of animal research protocols.
Educational Format: Live Class
 
Learning Objective (s): Upon completion of this course, the attendees should understand how the IACUC review process works, and the main items of concern for Research Compliance Officer and the IACUC. The attendees will be knowledgeable of the scope of IACUC post-approval monitoring, the most common findings and how to avoid them.
 
Class time: 1 hour
 
Who should attend? Research/Lab Managers, Faculty and Staff involved in animal research.
 
Frequency: Every three months

The IBC Review Process
