International Collaborations

The Office of the Vice Provost for Research promotes international collaborations.

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the University of Miami (UM) share an interest in promoting international, scientific and scholarly cooperation in all areas of knowledge. To this end, the two parties wish to enable scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from UM and those from the State of São Paulo, Brazil, through the funding of joint research projects.
The purpose of this initiative is to strengthen scientific collaboration in areas of interest to both countries and to achieve scientific and technological results of international significance. Funding is provided for travel and accommodations between the two countries.

The specifics of this agreement, and instructions on how to apply for funding under this mechanism, can be found here.

Deadline for submission is January 30, 2017.
Please note that FAPESP requires the Brazilian collaborator to be continuously funded through FAPESP for the time of the award.

Horizon 2020, the flagship funding mechanism of the European Union Commission, combines research and innovation, with an emphasis on excellence in science, industrial leadership and societal challenges.

Please join us for a workshop on funding opportunities through this mechanism, and hear from the program officers themselves: September 24, 2015, 2:30-4:45pm in the Knight Physics Building, Coral Gables Campus.
